Sounds like a plan, I bought one off those things that you suck up oil then pump it in. ****ing useless. Gonna be changing diff next week and i have one of those things will try it and see if it works.

I imagine the oil would be too thick to spray, might be wrong but a syringe isn't that expensive or even a bottle with a bit of pipe on!

Just thinking more for the Transfer box as its at a silly angle behind the hand brake drum. For the axles your standard bottle and spout works, I looked into the syringe and yeah its an idea but the folks have an old sprayer so might have a go tomorrow and report back, Just thought I would see what people had tried.

been using one for years - is a bit slow, but yu only need to watch it :)

Yes they work great. Don't use a cheap own brand one, get a good one like Hozelock, and take the spray head off. The cheap ones have very poor pressure valves on them that break if used with anything thicker than water, and the better quality ones have a wider delivery tube, so thicker oil can get down it. I have used my Hozelock one many times for this now, and find it best if your under the car with the tube, and someone else pumps at the side of the car.

I just love the Ideas of more than one man going out to the many.

I will endever to find a good/old sprayer to do my oils....

thanks

i tried this but it bust. I started to use a 100ml mega syringe off ebay with a long pipe on it. Much better and quicker as sprayer tok ageeeesssss

I tried using an old cheapo garden sprayer for diff oil, and it took en eternity. To be fair the temperature was close to freezing, and the oil was not prewarmed (been in the shed). 85w-140 being pushed through a very small hose barely dribbled in.
I reckon a bucket of hot water and a sprayer with decent size hose on it would definitely help, but I've got a bottle top screw on hand pump to try out for next time.

Well did it today and the only issue I had is wastage as you lose a couple 100mls, even the 80/90EP oil went ok I just stuck the trigger to ON and went and cleaned up the plugs then lay under the landy till it started dripping. Rather impressed.
