Probably a case of don't fix if it's not broke so we'll put things in that might break and you'll never know if they are working properly or not :D

I also just noticed the thick black pipe near the fuel supply inlet, can you tell me where this pipe goes?
Thanks,

Hi! Yes that pipe is some sort of vent or drain. may be to do with that venting solenoid just above it? I'll post up pics of all angles of the carb and you will see.
That other solenoid on the side which cuts the fuel......I don't know the detail of how it works, but I can tell you if it looses power while you are driving the engine stops immediately!!!
Anyway hope the pics help.
Paul.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, oh my, those pictures are so helpful, thanks so much, shows throttle & choke etc, perfect!
Have you got the heater ports linked? assuming the 2 ports by the thermostat are the heater connections?
I notice the fuel separator on the bulkhead, I didn't know they existed.. somthing else to buy - although I'm not sure it's really needed

You need that black swirl pot, the carb don’t run right without.

Yes I'm restoring the heater box and bulkhead under the heater, so the by pass enables me to still use the car!
Yes Hicap is correct you need the black pot. Its got a weir type thing in it to create a head of fuel from the fuel pump. The overflow from the weir goes back to the fuel tank (a return). I think this is because the fuel pump can be on when the engine is not running and even when it is it might not need all the fuel being pumped......if that makes sense ;-)

OK, thanks Paul and Hicap Phill, I'll add the swirl pot to the list, I did wonder if the carb would be happy with the electric pump being on at all times at some unknown pressure.
Andrew

Hi,
I'm now about the install the 2.5 engine, can you tell me which of the connections on top of the swirl pot is the feed from the pump and which is return to the tank?
Thank you :)
Andrew

Hi,
is there any chance of a photo of where the choke knob / housing is fitted in the cab? I can't find any photos online.
Thanks very much
Andrew

Thanks a lot Paul, I'll have a look at my steering col surround.. see if it's got a hole :)
I do have some kind of bracket with black plastic surround, but I think this may be for a hand throttle.
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi All,
OK, so engine is in and running fine after some issues - condenser failing, distributer clamp loose etc etc, but generally very good super smooth & quiet.
One question though, is the idle adjustment using the screw below? seems to be the only adjustment I could find.

I did a web search but couldn't find any diagrams with this info.

Thanks
Andrew

See photos should be all the info you need. I’m not an expert at adjusting carbs!!
