Now I have an acetylene torch I've been using that a lot. Heat the offending item up 'til it's nice and red, allow to cool a bit and out it comes. If not, do it again. I was wondering about getting one of those Mini Ductor things but with acetylene you can keep the gas flame nice and tight so it doesn't do any collateral damage unless you wave it about. My friends have christened me 'hot spanner man'.

I don't think I've got any pictures of stuff I've been doing lately. Mainly just helping a friend take apart an ancient cement mixer, possibly an early Winget model powered by a green Lister iron ingot. The gas cracks off the caked on cement and makes ancient nuts and bolts feel young again. Next time I go over to Wales I shall rebuild the cast iron foot of a roll top bath and try and remember to take some pictures.

Wd40 is great for everything, never even heard of plus gas! :)

Many years ago, my father used to use "Easol" releasing oil. I don't think it's available these days unfortunately it was effin' good stuff. A distinctive smell to it too, but nothing like as sweet as WD40 which by comparison smells like a tart's handbag.
