Just been given a waxoyl quote for my J reg 110 and its over £400, having never had it done before I got no idea on what is the normal price. does this seem over priced. Having looked it up online I understand that to do a decent job there is a considerable amount of work to do, but it just seems a very high price. what has everyone else paid to have it done?

£50 waxoil, £20 for my mate 4 hours time :)

Looks like it will have to be DIY, cant afford that quote. It will probably end up every where else but on the chassis.

Fantastic

Would your mate be up for doing my Series 2 chassis innards?
Ideally with Dinotrol, as I understand thats the best stuff.

I live in Leeds, so can easily pop over to him, assuming somewhere N Yorks.

Let me know if he'd be up for it, drop me a PM.

Cheers

Thanks for the advise guys, currently in talks with the guy who offered to fit in the Disco engine. I have got the finances for it thankfully and will be much happier than getting an engine off ebay that maybe knackered as well, plus this way I get a low mileage turbo, engine, radiator, clutch all fitted for me.

Just need to get her surface rust sandblasted off or the like and getting it rustproofed with waxoyl or the like. Partly to protect the chassis and partly to make her look a little more youthful, when the sun hits under them wheel-arches to show off a lovely shade of brown it kinda takes away from my freshly cleaned car ;)

I asked for quote from an independent Landy place in Bognor Regis and they wanted £150, I haven't had it done yet and even if I had I wouldn't be able to comment for at least a few years, assuming it does it job.
