cool...

just gathering info really...
Its something i want to do in the summer, the chassi has been coated at some point as the middle is really good, but it has had a rear cross member at some point and that needs a coating

Same here - mine looks pretty good on the outside, but it's always the inside that suffers. Gonna wait a month or two and then blast mine through with the jetwash. Leave it to dry for a couple of weeks (no fording during that time!) and then treat with chassis wax.

I've read somewhere, about people that cut a hole on the chassi so they can get the jetwash right in and then weld it back?

have you ever heard of anything like it?

Dunno about cutting a hole - I'm just worried the jetwash will blast a hole! Yeah, I guess you could do that - same goes for drilling more drainage holes in the chassis. I think the holes that are already there are at the lowest points to stop water sitting inside - but I must admit I've not looked at the whole thing with that in mind. A job for warmer weather, I reckon :)

Have allways treated my sh1t encrusted 1990 90 to a pressure wash ,let it dry, spray with waist oil 50/50 diesel mix twice a year inside and out,no major chassis work needed yet only a couple of small patches.Messy job though,[ do not park on someones posh drive for afew days]
