So, I turn the engine on (After waiting for Glow plugs to heat of course) and it revs for about half a second to somewhere around 2k RPM and then the MIL lamp illuminates (it drives ok, no smoke etc but is Limping on low power).
After research I find it may be the Water Temp Sensor so I buy One, replace the original with new and everything is ok - I take it for a spin and stop at a garage (To Celebrate I went to put some Diesel in).. Turn engine on again and guess what.... yes, back to Square One.
So I assume I got a Bad Sensor and had another One delivered - changed it over and same thing - ok at first but then same problem returns.. it can't be the sensors so what else could it be ??
With the engine running I disconnect the sensor, fans come on and engine revs a bit higher (to be expected) - I re-connect the sensor and engine slows down and fans stop (to be expected) so I know there is a good connection (plug is not corroded either).
I did disconnect the Sender for the internal Temp Guaga in the dash just for fun but that s didnt help.
I also disconnected and reconnected the MAF for fun but still no change - MIL stays on.
** I tested something on a journey earlier, with engine running I disconnected the Sensor and Reconnected it again and the MIL light went off and full power returned - I started engine again when I got home (after leaving it off for five mins) and the problem was back as before so I'm stuck again.
This problem cannot be unique to me, my only hope is that another forum member has the answer ??
