I have bought a 2004 TD4 and would appreciate some advice regards how the the water temp gauge should behave.
The car is slow to warm mabe 10 - 15 mins to reach just about half way on the gauge. The fuel burning heater is not working but in the recent warmer weather this should not make a difference.
When the car has reached operating temp while driving the temperature will wandered down not a lot but a noticeable amount which is more pronounced with the cabin heater turned up.
I am thinking thermostatic valve which I would just replace but appears to be buried fairly deeply in the engine.
Does anyone have any advice before I embark on this task?
