Not sure if this is the correct place, apologies but not only a new forum member but also a new hippo 1 owner.

My TD 4 is leaking water from what looks to me, like the rubber hose that comes from the thermostat housing on the pump. Now I did have a rover 75 with same engine, and that decided to spew water out of the actual pump, and although it was difficult to tell where it was coming from, a quick test for play on the water pump pulley showed a LOT of play. What Is concerning me is, I don't want to take on the water pump and thermostat change (already have the parts) if its not what it needs. The pulley has no play and the bottom hose is hot, as is the radiator. However, here is where I start to doubt it maybe the pump and maybe a blockage causing pressure to force water out near the pump. The top right hose (looking from front of car) is barely warm, and doesn't seem to have any pressure to it when warm, nor does it seem to have any water in it when you give it a squeeze (header tank bottle doesn't move). The top hose on the left however is extremely hot, and when squeezed affects the water in the header tank bottle. All of the other hoses to heater etc are hot, and the heaters also get hot. The temp gauge when warm sits in the middle and moves very little during varied driving.
Any relevant, helpful comments appreciated.

Followup...the water pump has now been replaced after the bearings in it went causing a distinct rattle! Anyway, all is good now.

51 plate with 113 on the clock. Its common fault on the bmw engines, same in the rover 75. If its leaking, get it changed is my advise.
