Hi everyone can anybody suggest how to dry the water in my headlights.
I have just had some great news my 92 200tdi has just passed the MOT with no problems, all being that I have water / condensation in both of my head lights. OK so far though because it doesn't affect the pattern. If any body got any ideas or tips I would be most grateful

Fred.

take them off, take out the bulbs, leave them to dry out properly.

get some silicone sealant and a gun and seal the edges. it worked on my indicators, just make sure it dries out before you stick them back in to avoid the lamps getting glued in there for good

Wicked thanks jax13 for that tip I'll give it a go if only it stops raining for a day ;)

you can get a special drill bit fer glass and drill a hole in the bottom, that way it will always run out ;)

not if yer drill the hole in the bottom lip, the disco headlights aint like a sealed beam yer know ;)

i bow to your eminent wisdom, Yella - i just had a couple of cars fail in the past fur cracked headlights and they weren't sealed beam either. I will now go back to sleep.

ive dried headlights out by taking out the bulb then useing a hair dryer to dry them out its quick and easy as for drilling a hole in them i think they would soon corrode seen it on car before.

And your headlights would fill up when you waded!

shirley they'd fill up anyway? ah mean if condensation can get in then if yer in water up to yer headlights them is gonna philip so wiff a small hole they could drain.
