Hi, I've got a TD5 and the water in Fuel light came on a few weeks ago. I checked the sedimenter at bottom of fuel filter and drained some fluid, cleaned it up, reconnected electrical plug, switched on and light still came on.

I changed the fuel filter, but the light still comes on.

Does anyone have any ideas? Have I got the get the motor 'plugged in' to clear the fault.

Any ideas welcome.

Cheers

Try disconnecting the connector that goes to the fuel filter. Does the light go out then?

99% its the connection with the sensor. Supposed to be a common fault, to the point where i was told LR disconnect them now!

As you can see from the location its not surprising that the connections get wet.

My mechanic has disconnected mine, saying as the filter is changed regularly if any water did settle in the bottom it would get changed at the next service anyway.

I am just glad the constant bonging has stopped! :)

Disconnected the connector and light stays off. That fix works for me!! lol

does seem a daft place to put the fuel filter, but hey, it is easy to get to.

Cheers guys,

Paul
