Morning people
The wife managed to crunch the back end of the roof on her 06 freelander1.
The roof was changed as well as a new rubbel seal.After being left out in The rain I found about half-ltr.water in the box under the floor.Acting on a tip from a L.r meck.the garage then changed The seal that goes across The top of the door fram,but no luck.So back again,week later wife collects the car with a promiss that alls well.Well the heavens opened up last night,as did the freelander,about 1ltr.water in the box.Anywone got any ideas????

ive heard unofficially that the best cure is a few holes drilled in the tool box is the best solution. have you a sunroof fitted?

Hi Barty thanks for your reply,The wife would probably kill me if suggested that. No sun roof fitted.

I have the same issues with mine. Tried everything and no luck. Couple of drainage holes and some rubber grommets and sealant to stop it rusting. Job done. Alternatives are lots of expensive garage trips or a ball ache trying to change seals yourself.

Or you can leave it and risk rotting out the carpet and bodywork.

does your have a sun roof if so take the side panels off to see if they have put the draining pipes from the sun roof back into the other bit of pipe that goes into the floor

Mine leaked since I had it about, 12 months, I renewd the door aperture seal, £140 bugger still leaked, so took the boot door trim off, no membrane (plastic sheet), so pair of scissors, strong poly sheet and some gaffer tape and made a new membrane. The deep pocket on the door trim fits inside a large hole in the door frame so dont make the membrane tight in that area, as when you put the trim on the membrane will split and will leek. No water in the boot now, been done about 3 months.

Hi Illy this sounds interesting,every thing else is supposed to have been done.Would they have had to take off the door trim to get the door off? I 'll check it out later.Thanks for the tip.

Thats possible because to take door off you need to disconnect wire's and I'm not sure whether there is a multi plug behind the boot interior trim or not so may have to disconnect from inside the door

What! That's just shoddy build quality. I can't believe there is no seam sealer applied to the cubby joint. At least that is easy to check for and sort.

Hi Illy scary vidio that,there were no leaks before the roof crunch & the car had'nt been used pior to me finding spare bulbs swimming around.Going back to garage end of The wk.and I'll try to take a look before she goes.thanks for your help.
