I was replacing the turbo on my TDI 300 when I noticed the wastegate was not moving. I gripped it with a vice grip and got it moving with some wd40.
Looking at the video below, is this all the movement you get off a wastegate?
Is there any way of checking it before assembly?

its only a flap that opens closes ,normally they move more once actuator is disconnected but thats enough for rod when connected, you wont need to adjust it as rod presumably is same length as before ,but on a 300 it wouldnt hurt if it didnt open ,you should see it open as you rev engine and boost builds
