You could also get loss of power if overboost / under load if the actuator is misadjusted / sticky
Although this shouldn't be accompanied by smoke

^^^That's why i didnt even mention the overboost but corroborated with the mixed up injection due to weakened loom it can be possible but quite unlikely though ;)

[QUOTEThat seems extreme; [/QUOTE]
It’s not extreme. As @sierrafery says. It’s the recognised way of dealing with the oil ingress. You can also remove the ECU and leave it standing plug down overnight to drain oil out of that. I read recently about an improved harness with better seals that is on the market. It might have been in the LRO magazine. Changing the harness is not a big job.

"4 Driver demand 1 fault" is the code it's given. Garage tested the throttle, as that seems to be what it relates to, and it's reading fine on Driver demand 1 when the pedal is pressed.

Depends on the tool, generic multivehicle ones based on OBD2 protocol are not OK unless they have the specific LR software loaded and these are all above 5000 GBP. As long as your air intake is not clogged and the turbo hoses are all good i dont see what you can check more without diagnostics but if the ECU red plug was once full of oil and not replaced with new you have to rule this out first, only genuine LR is acceptable, aftermarkets can fail in no time, it's pure lottery

Just to check; you mean replace the injector loom, not the whole loom right the way to the ECU plugs?

Just the injector loom. I've done it, it ain't difficult. But don't expect the oil to dry up right away, it continues to drip down through the inside of the insulation of the rest of the loom. I still have to clean out the red plug from time to time. Ministry of Cr@p Design unfortunately.:(

`This fault code can be triggered by low fuel pressure too cos the ECU doesnt know why the rpm is not rising enough on the throttle demand... do this test Check Td5 fuel pump HP

Have you seen the sealed td5 injector harness from pace automotive? If you had I wondered what your thoughts are?
