got a quote of £775 for a securecare policy from warranty direct for my 2001 P38 2001 4.0 V8 County RR FSH 78k miles...
for a 1 year cover... no mention in their blurb on cover for the Air Suspension.. almost everything else is including failures due to premature wear...
does it sound good value or expensive?

I once insured my tyres against damage... and dont you know it all 4 of them suffered damage and my m8 from AFT tyres put the clam in for me.... lucky weren't I? (or you make your own luck)

Depends if your going to DIY servicing and repairs. Check the small print to see if book stamped servicing is a condition of the cover. £775 a year buys a lot of parts for DIY but not much from a dealer/independant.

Don't be too put off by what you read on the forum, most people only post when they have a problem and that can give a false impression.

Based on my experiences of WD back in the late 'nineties, don't bother. Every time (3 times over 2 different cars) I claimed, the faults were put down to 'wear & tear'. That was for normal cars, 4x4's are even more complex with more to go wrong.

I had the same dilemma when I got mine in August. I decided to "bank" the money it would have cost me for the warranty and put towards parts. Wear items are not covered. I would guess that they would claim air suspension bags to be wear since they perish with age - but maybe not....

Invest the money in a BBS Nano or Extreme and a 135 amp hour battery......it will save you money, in the long run.......

Not worth the paper it's written on. What is premature wear. Does that mean your definition or the insurers definition? Normal wear and tear will not be covered. The car is 11 years old there will be lots of normal wear and tear. Buy some spanners and a Nanocom then put what's left in the bank. You will also have to have it serviced by an approved garage.

BBS - Blackbox Solutions - Diagnostics Supplier for the Land Rovers

Nanocom by BBS is a glove box sized stand alone device for around the £400 ish mark and is very powerfull

Faultmate Extreme is the real deal, full fat, all singing and dancing Diagnostic device from BBS and is around the £1000 mark

https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/

There is also the Bearmach Hawkeye but not as good as the BBS stuff but is only around £300-350 and can read live data, etc

The warranty for my Volvo C70 was to "give universal peace of mind". It covered everything except about 300 things and thus was worthless.

Well I have put a new liner in and done both head gaskets replaced the headlights and both front door locks and the bonnet insulation and the rear upper tailgate all for less than your warranty quote :)

Subscribe to the club (min £5, max is whatever you can afford) and buy a Landyzone sticker from the LZ Shop above for a couple of quid. Both are worth every penny.
