Well... according to Mr Plod anyway.

I had my Series on the road / pavement at the bottom of my drive - i live on a dead end road with 3 houses past me and a pavement on the other side of the road too.

Plod rings me up today telling me i need to move my Jeep (i corrected him) instantly as it was 'very dangerous' - i asked how but he couldn't really clarify, i explained it was missing a wheel, hub assembly, half shaft, etc. and wasn't exactly moveable but was being worked on and hadn't come to any harm over the last 8 weeks of being there (ok it's a slow job)

He wasn't happy about that and said if it was still there tomorrow they would remove it. :mad:

Solution?

I'd be more worried about the snidey git on your street if I were you, if your motor is taxed and tested and on a rated axle stand the old bill can't do much unless there are sharp protruding objects that may cause harm to the public.
 
ask em to remove it.Charge em for any damge to pay for repairs. Was it on the public highway?
 
It is taxed, mot'd, nothing falling off, just missing a wheel. I guess it was because it was half on the pavement and half on the road.

But, yes, i know it will be one of 3 potential houses, not that bothered, house is going on the market today anyway! Just a bit of a pain having to move it!

My neighbour gave it to him cus he was being really arsey about it. I'm glad she did, better than them just attempting to remove it there and then and doing some damage.

Apparently he is coming back tomorrow to make sure i have moved it. :rolleyes:

under wot authority? Leave it be.was he from traffic or safer neighbourhoods-ie pcso?

No idea tbh, apparently he was also going around warning people that there have been a lot of oil thefts recently in the area.

I don't think you're meant to park on pavements really, so, i expect that's what the actual problem was, but, i can't see how it was dangerous
 
just leave a live animal in it dog, cat, pet rat, stick insect so it can be seen they cant remove it then

I dunno where ya got that rubbish from but that wouldn't make a blind bit of difference. Moving it without the wheel is also a dodle. It'd simply require a skate under the axle.

That's exactly what excuse plod will use to lift the Landy (and charge you the recovery/storage fee), If possible get it onto the road and re-fit the wheel ... no way they can bitch about it then. Then bomb the house of the **** neighbour:D

a mate of mine parked illegally with dog in car they was going to lift it but couldnt cos impounding the car would of restricted access to the dog to care for it could be in the pound weeks= one dead dog

That's b*****ks.

Have you or your mate not heard of a dog warden/pound? Damage can also legally be caused to your vehicle in order to extract the dog. If you failed to turn up and collect your dog you would also be liable for cruelty charges as you would have abandoned your animal without proper care. If you came to pick your animal up from the tow away pound it will be released to you even if your car is still there. Certain property can also be released from the vehicle without you paying to get the car released.

+1 on this post, as I came across a car parked up on a scorching hot day with dogs in the back, no windows open for ventilation or water available, with dog's looking extremely stressed.

As a dog owner and softy to anything that involves animal cruelty I called the old bill to explain the situation, they explained that it was an issue for local council/dog warden ... BUT ... they turned up soon enough when I told them I was going to break the car's window to release the dog's unless someone turned up in 10 minutes to help me out!! End result, copper's saw sense and the dog's got out of the cooker .... as for what happened to the w**k owner, I don't know:(
