...the dash is made of the most brittle plastic known to man. Be very careful taking any screws out.

I only took the plastic surround for the speedo/rev counter etc off because my fuel release switch disintegrated (yes, some plastic snapped...). Infuriatingly, I can't repair it because the metal sliding contact has dropped off and disappeared  Still a piece of foil slid over the contacts activates the fuel-flap solenoid so at least I can put pretrol in for now

So far I have repaired the four bottom screw holes and 3 cracks on this piece of trim (using a strong model-makers' plastic solvent). I still have to repair the plastic that the upper securing brackets for this piece of trim are clipped to (part of the dashboard itself) and the part of the dash the outermost lower screws pass through still to fix.

Took out 6 screws and found 8 broken sections of plastic and 3 cracks..!!! Oh and the foam covering the dashboard frame needs lots of superglue to stick the edges down...

Turns a possible 5 minutes job into a mission..!!!

Try owning a motorbike - the plastics on them disintegrate too - and as it is 'the body' a lot more important - lego bricks disolved in acetone makes a good repair plastic :)
