hi guys in the last week or so my car dash display has started to flash a warning message when I turn the car off - the problem I’ve got is my display is pixelated so I can’t read what it says properly.

I thought I would share a couple of photos of the display on the off chance someone here recognises the message. My car is a 2004 4.4 Petrol/lpg and as far as I can tell it’s running fine with no issues or error codes.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you look in Rave it may give you a clue.
The first bit I looked at showed this: Look familiar at all? ;)
There is a full list of the possible messages after that page and there are a few that end with an E on the first line.

looks something like IMPOR___ION TIRE to me

forget the TIRE bit, they spell it with a Y

If you have TPMS operational. Pump the tyres to the correct pressures and reset the TPMS.

Hi guys thanks for the replies, I don’t think I have tpms - what’s the reset procedure for that on a 2004 as worth having a look?

It’s defo a brain teaser as can make out some of the letters but not enough to actually tell what it says!

Personally, I'd say check all, that you can , on the list above. Once all levels, etc, are checked, see if warning returns. Also which system are you using to check faults? Whilst many are called, few are chosen. In other words, make sure you have a system that the vehicle will expose all secrets to

I can't make those pixels into any of those message options. Not even if i squint
Have you tried pressing around the display? Might bring a few extra pixels back to life for a moment

Hi guys just to give closure to this thread I have done some more digging and have got to the bottom of it. I upgraded my nav to the mk4 dvd version last summer and for some bizarre reason when turning off speed camera alerts it changes the language from English to French in the dash display only.

I put the speed camera alerts back on to see what the warning message was and it turned out it was just the headlight delay warning that comes on when turning lights off after removing keys to give an extra 20 seconds of lights.

Nice to know there was no bigger problem, thanks again to all who chipped in with help and advice
