Been to view a rioja red 110 CSW today, on an 06 plate in High Wycombe, being sold by Platinum Auto's which looks to be a professional outfit.

Conversations on the phone lead me to believe there was a showroom and a storage unit which turned out to be his mates house and the storage unit was his house!

The landy was exceptionally clean, too clean! Brand new carpets which were glued to the floor and brand new seats. New bits and pieces bolted on here and there and a rather suspect looking receipt for a recent service.

Travelled up from chichester to view it and it wouldn't start, I could hear it sucking in air whilst he was cranking it - he insisted it was just because he couldn't find the choke

Him and his pals bump started it and I entertained them as well as being curious as to how it drove and took it round the block - where it near enough stalled on most hills - the biggest of which I had to use low range (which had to be held in otherwise it just popped out) to get up the hill!

Just a warning to anyone looking out for one - its a bag of poop but looks very nice and is up for £11,995 - Don't waste yer bloody time and money on this one!

red.... and the seller called it a "no frills, rugged jeep"

I'd have refused to buy it just because he referred to it as a J**P!

Choke on a 06? Hmmmmm

My thoughts were slightly more explicit by the time he rolled that one out on me after driving nearly 2 hours to go see it, him telling me its a good quality vehicle etc etc then seeing it parked in his back garden, refusing to start!

How the bloke makes money selling cars I don't know!

did we not have a similar thing recently where someone had bought a range rover from an alleged dealer in high wycombe, paid a deposit, when he came to pick it up a week later it had another 2000 miles on it, and there were loads of faults, and there was some kerfuff about it being some blokes house ?

someone with a better memory than me will know

Rings a bell but couldn't say if it was High Wycombe
