HI All,

I am sadly needing to sell my Series 2a LWB pickup restoration project as the garage its stored in, is falling to pieces and before long the rain will start getting in and therefore rotting a perfectly good project.

Its a 1966 Series 2a, Its been stored in the dry since it was parked up (6?) years ago. I took it on about 18 months ago.

It has an excellent chassis, and the bodywork (which is Aliminium), is in good nick, with the exception of quite a few dents. It has an engine in it (a 2.5 n/a diesel from an early MOD defender. Ive never had this running, but theres no reason why it shouldn't, all turns freely. It needs a new starter motor. It has a brand new clutch in it. The firewall will need some welding, but should be simple enough.

the front end is in pieces, but could easily be put back together.

The question i have to everyone is..... What do you think its worth?

I have looked on ebay at similar vehicles in similar condition, and i think its worth between £600-£800 in its current state.

I AM AFTER AN HONEST OPINION, NOT SOMEONE TO TELL ME ITS WORTH £200 AND THEN TRY AND CON ME. I KNOW ITS WORTH MORE.

Thanks,

Matt

A part striped project Is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
To be Honist I wouldn't pay more than about £500 for something I can't drive away and striped down. You would be better off putting back together the front end and atleast people can see it complete

I'm not sure how to post pictures of it on here. will try and put some up.

I'd be happy to get around £500 for it, if thats what its worth. All i'm after is opinions on what it is worth. Good answers so far. thanks.

My other thought has been to sell it in parts as it is in pieces already. Would this gain more money?

i wouldnt break it as it would be another series landy lost to the cant be arsed abyss and probably another tax exempt plate running round on a 10 yr old fender although not intentional on your behalf but breaking tax exempt motors dunt arf boost the criminal economy

id keep it complete of put it back together so atleast if not roadworthy it drives and runs right then sell it as a project

of course we need pics as i personally cannot imagine what state the paintwork bodywork or coachwork looks like astheticaly wich if on ebay will have a large direct effect on interest and value

if we can see it we can give you a fair estimate to what its worth

and you need to upload yer pics to photobucket or a similar image hosting site to put up the image URL on here to show pics :smokin::smokin:

ere matt

this is landyzone wich is not just a forum its an extended family really

if youd like to keep the landy and or finish the project or repair the garage there are a fair few of us on here that will come out and graft for a day here and there for a few cups of tea and a bacon butty

why not put yer location up to see whose local and or available it doest hurt you know :D:D:D

Cheers for that last comment, all valid points, and i hadnt thought about what breaking it can do for the crims.

Its certainly not the "cant be arsed" excuse with me, the only reason i am having to sell is the fact that my garage is falling to pieces and before i have the money to rebuild it, the rain will have got in and will ruin the whole thing.

I dont have a photbucket account, but i think the missus does. Will try and sort a couple of pics out.

The paintwork isnt great. I think whoever had it before me did a VERY slapdash job with a tin of Hammerite and it will need a re paint.

Cheers for that, Nice idea, i didnt realise that sort of thing was possible.

Im in Ramsey (cambridgeshire) if anyone fancies a day or two. Can supply Tea/beer and bacon a plenty!

cambridgesesterestershshshire is a bit out of my league but whats wrong with the garage is it rotten to the core or just the roof leaking its taters off if its just a leaky roof then a 1lb bag of clout nails and a few tarpaulins would really help your situation theres many ways round things and you dont really need a garage or premises to do a rebuild or resto wich i have proved by doing a series rebuild within 3 months starting febuary in a 20ft by 18ft terraced house back yard and a small garden shed

Its about 50 years old and made of asbestos. The sides of the garage are asbestos sheets and are broken all over. the frame isn't far behind and is rotting left right and centre. I think its a complete re-build job really.
