as above mechanic/knowledgeble person wanted in around chesterfield to put a new/or exchange the nearside swivel ball etc as mine has slight pitting causing the oil to leak.must be a mobile mechanic as got my kids at home each day making it difficult to drop off anywhere.

You don't want a cheap mechanic, you want a GOOD mechanic.

Price should take second seat to quality of work, especially on steering and suspension work.

Some people just can't be helped.
First thing I thought of when I read your post was good and cheap don't really work well, would you buy your child seats from Poundland or buy good safe ones.

Wow, non starter here.

Interesting info might be for you Steve that if you approach this forum the right way you'll either get all the help you need to tackle the job yourself (basibally free training) or one of your new mates will pop round and do the job with you for bacon and cups of tea on a Sunday morning.

BUT it's all down to attitude and you've ****ed on your chips laying into Pete like that.
