That would be the best thing is to see it running. I thought there would be loads of these engines for sale but apparently not. Still had no luck
 
Possibly the worst Diesel engine ever. A bag of sheite invented as a supposedly logical follow on to petrol ⛽️ version.
If you are considering a landy refurbishment get hold of a petrol 2.25l instead.
 
@wireman Lovely cheers for your help mate found one on Ebay in the end. It's in and is running nicely. Itll do for a farm truck. In reply to @John S I've had these engines for years since the 70s. Never let me down always gone on and done the job and that's for farm work towing and running implements such as balers and all sorts. Well made engine just slow and noisy.

+1 agree. Love these engines and if maintained properly, will last for ever. They are very agricultural, which is what they were designed for, but they are of their time and one has to accept that. Mine has never let me down yet. If you want a speed demon, sure it won’t be for you. But then a series Land Rover wouldn’t be the ideal vehicle either. Otherwise it’s a perfectly competent simple engine.
