hey lissen fella if you an your glazin mate think its a goer ,then great ,to be honest if i need a new screen or any other glass for it ,ill be going second hand as usual ,same as ive always done when ive had broken glass in any of my classics or moderns ,(curved screens exepted obviously )

and for that reason (in a duncan banantyne style) i just want to let you know where i am .............aaaammmm ooootttt !!!!!!

we'll give it a go i think,he has all the neccessary machinery and skills.just doing landy stuff would be financial suicide as most landy owners including me are tight gits.i believe there is a market for vintage and veteran vehicle glass, better than trying to scrape a living installing household windows and doors.

Did it years ago. Its not such a good idea. If you do be carefull not to leave any metal from the centre post sticking out where the seal goes. It will crack the screen when you tighten it up.

especialy if hed be prepared to cut curved laminated screens

,and the plant market ,a lot of that stuff still uses flat glass

Sorry if i upset the likes of yella. Thanks to all for advice.Didn't bovver to reply to mistericeman as i live in Eastbourne and im too lazy to travel that far.I have got in contact with a local firm who will do it . Thanks again

doubt youve upset anyone mate ,but for what its worth ,having driven mine with both screens ,it doesnt make hardly any differance ,the thing that restricts vision most is the depth of the screen (hence the real defender ones being 1.5" taller)and id think before i spent any money on doing it , try driving my series 3 ,with external visor ,and bonnet mounted spare ,its like driving a post box lol

Yea spare wheel on bonnet is bad for vision have had a go in one.Probably have people saying "mines on the bonnet wot do u mean??" Its just that i cant help but drive it everyday even thou i have a "proper car" (not me that said that) and keep playing with ideas to improve it . Will give your comment some thought cheers.

yup mines used everyday too ,missus has a ford crocus or something ,and i just dont enjoy driving it the same ,bought mine just over 12 months ago ,had a defender front on it ,and van back ,thats where the fun started ..............

before and after

its always a work in progress tho lol, least its got a galv chassis ,so no welding every year ,wudnt swap it for the world

Saw one (one piece screen) in 1970 ish on a 109 S3, 9.00X16s, 2ΒΌ diesel with Rover 75 diffs, he said, 3 tanks in Arctic white, acceleration was 0-70 in 30 mins (downhill). Cool thing he had was 3 wipers, and that DOES improve vision. Like my 1947 Triumph Roadster, have done that to a Scamp. Just need to make up suitable lengths of ww drive-cable outer and swage the ends and space the spindle holes right, fiddly but a delight to the fettler's time-wasting repertoire

Still to achieve my replica of above dream vee-hikl, but working on it, will be semi series, semi 110
