Hi to all

Im new to this forum and have joined as i want to buy a new shape Range Rover Vogue.
Just wanted some advice really.
I want the car to use for my business and will be towing a car transporter so i need something with grunt.

The question is which is better a Diesel??
or
Petrol with LPG

Ive been warned off the LPG as it causes problems, but i can see the fuel bill being cheaper.

Please can you share your advice to which is a better vehicle.

Many thanks

Not sure i can afford really new.
Was thinking more of the 54 plate area, and not sure if the TDV8 starts then??

Thanks though

cant afford the tdv8 as the cheapest ive seen is £30K.

my budget is £18k max so unfortunately only a petrol or td6 is an option.

which is better a v8 petrol 4.4 that is LPG or a td6??

ive had people say the LPG models suffer with over heating.

can any one shed any light on this please.

many thanks in advance

I've run a V8 on LPG for many years. Providing the installation is correct and the timing settings are right there is no reason why overheating should be a problem. My engine runs at the same temperature on LPG as on petrol. Performance difference is unnoticeable in normal driving and consumption is only a little worse - and really depends more on how you drive it.
If I had a choice of TD6 or V8 with LPG I'd go with the V8 every time. Cheaper to run and a much more pleasant drive.

Hi

I ran a 2002 TD6 with the black box gizmo in the fuel rail and k&n filter no matter what i did with the car long runs or short with towing in town etc the fuel was 25 mpg.

The uphill performance was much better with the box added and the performance was satisfactory for me so i would highly recommend the TD6 but for me my next one will be a TD8 sport.

best of luck and good hunting.

thanks for the input guys

what kind of mpg do you get from the petrol 4.4 v8 on petrol and on LPG????

Diesel is 25mpg so thats as good as im getting now, i have a 3.0 Audi A8L petrol and get mid 20s so diesel mpg is good considering the L322 are massive.

I have a 2002 new shape Vogue with a TD6 engine.
Use it for business - typically cruising the motorways - excellent and quite + towing with 1.5 toms of caravan - will hold cruise at 60 on most roads.
Excellent bit of kit

I have a 2000 vogue 4.6 on lpg and I get 15 running around and 20 on a run
which considering the price e.g. 59.9 per ltr is good
