Hi folks,

I'm new to the group, I don't currently own a Landy but I'm looking at buying a Freelander as we speak.

At the moment I have my eye on a couple, one is the Freelander 2 2.2 Td4 XS Manual 150 BHP with 70,000 mls, the other is a Freelander 2 2.2 SD4 HSE Auto 190 BHP with 76,000 mls

What are the pro's and con's of these models? Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for?

I have never owned a Landy before so any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Go for the HSE; pokier and better spec'd out. The auto box has two modes, normal and 'sport'. If you want to change gears manually just nudge the stick forward and aft when in sports mode. Both models are just about run-in at 70k~76k miles

Welcome grifter, i don't have any experience of those models so i can't add any thing of use

I'd go for the HSE, but ultimately I'd base the final decision on service history and condition.
If you know the registrations do an MOT history check at the very least.
I think the SD4's are a bit lower on the road tax as the emissions are less.
Torque figure is the same despite the SD4's extra BHP.
Can't think of anything else right now...
