Cheers for the weekend lads had to good laugh, here are a couple of photos, one of them is the green citrioen hatchback who following his sat nav ended up part way down a mountain on a green lane, and the other is Danny getting a tug LOL!

Is that the tug I never used as I got myself out hehe lol. Was a good wkend had by all obviously had to get a picture of me pulling Paul out hehe. Also the dreaded break down from dave and also the reason how he broke his diffs getting out of the sticky stuff. Also can't forget the other picture of me about to pull the volvo out of the same mess John had to get the Citroën out of.

That's really good news mate alot cheaper , and at least you know them diffs can take a beating.

Can I join in with my photos from the weekend :(

Picked up a replacement engine this afternoon and first job was to replace the timing belt

Wow that did make a mess that belt glad it wasnt in the middle of a lane. Hope you got the new engine in okay.

Replacement engine is goosed, spent most of Monday swapping stuff over and replacing seals and timing belt, last job was swapping rocker cover for my cleaner one and found this

So I've ended up rebuilding my existing one

That's a badly looked after engine that mate. Looks more like licorice than oil. Did u manage to get the old engine up and running again then.

I've never seen owt l like it bud it was like shoe polish.

While I was waiting for my mate from church yesterday morning who was going to give me a hand I was watching a YouTube video on changing timing belts and the bloke was working on one just like mine so after taking the knackered engine back I called in at Craddocks to buy a new set of pushrods, head gasket and two new rocker arms. Went back home and stripped it only to find a pushrod seat was cracked so yet again off to Craddocks for a three quid part, proper gutted.

Rebuilt the engine only to find I've mislaid pipe from the thermostat housing to the poxy water pump so I'm hopefully off to Craddocks again tonight for a £1.20 pipe and then that should be it.
I'm pretty good at doing timing belts now mate:D
