Hi

Looking to fit a wading kit to my discovery now I'm unsure which kit to go with? Seen some for as low as about £40 but then others around £90? I have mostly gwyn Lewis kit on my truck but is his wadding kit any different to a £40 one bearing in mind his is close to £90?

Cheaper than £30?

I found a local guy that sold the tube per meter and all the fittings for aquariums and it only saved me a few quid.

comes with pump cover too, saves drilling :D

doubt you'd save more than 5-10 getting yourself local.

be able to get metal fittings and different pipe sizes though
 
I got that ebay one in black. still got some hose left over but was short a 2into1 fitting.

one thing I really want to ask though is where to plumb it to. I have mine fed into the top of my snorkel but I still seem to have got some water into my axles could this be because of the breathers being in the snorkel and the engine intake pressure not allowing the axles to breath and so they have sucked some water in? would it be better to have the breathers outside the snorkel so they can breath from atmosphere?

i've always seen it recommended to not be in the snorkel or directly next to the intake as you'll get low pressure over the top of the breather. have it next to it, but in a U like the originals.

might be worth checking they are still unblocked
 
cheers was wondering about the pressure differences with them being in the snorkel. I have seen loads that are in the snorkel so thought that was the way to do it. that'll teach me for being a sheep I suppose
 
Mine is into snorkel for over twelve months with regular off-roading and submersion often. Oils changed recently and there was no signs of moisture in there so in my opinion it seams fine to be in snorkel.
 
fair do's I have had mine through water at yarwell and then had a rear wheel bearing that needed tightening and spotted a little damp on the halfshaft but previous to that I changed the front axle casing and had a little damp on the innermost threads of the breather elbow that screws into the axle.
any time I need to break a seal it always gets cleaned and resealed generally with loctite's black gasket silicon which is labeled to work with oil and is working great on my sump so highly doubt I have a gasket/seal issue
