Dear All
I have fitted a new regulator (behind speedo) but the Temp & Fuel gauge still do not work.
How can I test the regulator or test for other faults.

you need to test the wiring/sender units etc.have you got a multimeter? (can be bought on ebay for just a few pounds and will pay for itself over and over).

Yes got a multi meter but have not used in much

Not sure of the type boughy from the 4X4 shop in swansea it has 2 connectors on the back.

if its the old bi-metal type - its almost impossible to test.
If its one of the new digital ones - then its easy.

i think you can test bi metal regulators by placing pos meter lead on output (of reg)and neg lead to earth (meter set to dc volts) you should see a "pulse" reading.

it dont work - coz the response times of most multimetres wont show the tru voltage.

it works with an analogue meter

Will have a go at this when I have sorted my Brakes/oil leak out.
I will let you know how I get on.

bonzo what part of wales you from? you stated you got your meter from swansea4x4 if you need help give me a shout i live in the area and im always willing to assist, regards jim
