Hi and thanks for letting me in, grew up around series Land Rovers but only just bought my first, Olive is a series 3 lightweight with a 200TDI fitted, sorry to start with a question but which battery would be ideal, space no an issue as located in a metal box in the back, google is suggesting 069 when I search Defender but open to suggestions. Thanks Si

Hello and welcome:)
Humm lightweight nice
generally with battery's the biggest AH, highest cca you can fit in there, always good to have extra capacity:D

Nice to see it appears to have military light fittings. The headlight bezzles are on the wrong way round though.

Hi and welcome!

I’d agree with the comment about the biggest battery you can get. Try Tayna batteries, they offer very good service at competitive prices in my experience. Otherwise, an agricultural suppliers for a tractor battery.

It would be better fitted under the seat or in the engine bay than in the back. Is there space under the front nearside seat?

hanks from what I understand the starter will only ever pull what it requires so upping the cca may be irrelevant, I’ll go with 069 I think from Tayna and location is good as back won’t be used, as for under the passenger seat there’s a panel missing and a lovely view of the road lol, thanks to all for advice cheers

I have an 069 in my 200tdi converted defender and it’s absolutely more than adequate. I just have the halfords one and it’s 9years old and still fine (although i do keep it on a ctek charger when not driving)
