You will want breathers attached if your going to go through it although on the day those pics were taken 2 vehicles made it through without snorkels, both mitsi's, and the suffered no issues, balls of steel though, I wouldn't have done it without a snorkel!

Why do people try and drive as quickly as possible - you wouldn't need a snorkel if you took it slowly, you're not trying to recreate a tsunami in Essex! Seen the same with drivers on rough green lanes, going like hell and destroying everything.
 
You sir are talking bollox, driving that lane with 4' deep water, you DO need a snorkel or a spare engine. Have you done it with water that deep without one.

your talking bollox there, if you knew the lane you would realise that bow wave always happens as you drop into one of the many deep craters along the lane. A snorkel is a must in Violets, the two that made it without had been very lucky, they were jap vehicles so have the intake hidden in the wings....

Thanks for the info and pics, think we are goingt to give it a miss untill we all have time to fit the wading kits.
