sodding AAP sensor has gone up the fanny.
Keeps bringing up a fault on the nanocom. Anyone know the sort of readings should I be getting from it?

unplugged the AAP and what a difference, so much more torquey! I need to get it replaced but choof me are they pricey!

I just bought some cup holders, rimmer bros do then for £48.

where did you get the headrest pillow from?

ahhhh secret squirrels...

To be honest, they are a bit cack. They are comfy enough, but most of the time they get flung to the back of the car as the mrs hates them. Id much prefer a headrest that was significantly deeper so it actually bloomin worked.

They are off eblag.

My facelift headlights arrived today. Putting off doing the conversion as it looks a right faff....

Also the rebuild kit for the FPR arrived so i might finally get back to full power!

let me know how it goes ... would be just as a faff to put the non facelift lights on a facelift?

as for the cushion, when I lean my head back onto the headrest, it feels like it goes about an inch too far and my head feels like it is leaning back too much, hence the reasoning behind me thinking about getting a cushion.

Well i started changing the fuel pressure regulator today. Undid the top 2 bolts with knuckle scraping annoyance, went onto the bottom bolt...

*$£*$

Some pillocks rounded off the head on the bolt.

Bloody brilliant.

Gave up today.

diagnosed one issue is that the in tank pump isnt working properly so ordered one, and the front r.h hub is knackered with loads of play in it. So again, one on order.

Picked up a set of tidy 265 60 18 general grabbers on disco 3 rims off of @cambridgecockney on friday and fitted them today. Really pleased in the way it drives now. So much better with a slightly higher profile tyre. Alot more comfort, and the A/T tyres are much safer on our track.

Another one of those threads that you cant stop reading once you get going....
Lovely vehicle you got there mate....

rraaahhh

Mrs overheated the disco the other day, its been losing coolant at a rate of about 1ltr per 1500 miles which i was going to "get round" to sorting.

But it suddenly used all its coolant in 250 miles and it broke down on the motorway. Anyway, i recovered it, and so now need to investigate the sudden increase in coolant loss.

Isnt overheating (until theres no coolant!) and its running better than ever. Hopefully its just a split hose somewhere or the waterpump failing, fuel cooler etc.

Its never ending isnt it....

Classic td5 head gasket or cracked head, usually becomes apparent with over heating on motorway,
test by filling with coolant and have a good blast down the motorway, if the hoses are solid, suspect the worse

Im going to make sure its not something silly before assuming the worst :)
Fingers crossed tis the waterpump. None of the usual signs of HG failure but having read numerous posts this seems common. Im going to give it a sniff test just to see, but again, there are many tales of this not detecting anything.

Ill pressurise the coolant system with a pump to see if i can find any leaks too.

You were right John. Heads gone.

Plenty of tiny wee bubbles coming through in the header tank.

Arse

Have a look at page 3 of the thread post 9, writting was on the wall, but its never nice, but not the end of the world.
I got a 2nd hand head from John Daunters for £225, and its still going strong

aye ill have a look at sorting it.
Itll get done, ill have to get the head whipped off and see if its cracked.

Well having had the 3 amigo on since i bought it, a change of the rear abs sensor has since sorted it.

Id been putting it off, thinking it was gong to be harder than it really was. 20 minutes though and the job was done. I could well imagine it would be more fiddly if everything as seized up though.

So now, its on with replacing the watts linkage, missing bump stop, FPR, an antiroll bar drop link (thats presently snappped) and then "fingers crossed" she will be ready for an mot and be back on the road.

Should drive better than at any point we have had it!
