st boswells mowers - £35 a day (which i thought was very cheap!)

nice set of helpful chaps too :)

ouch! thats expensive!

i also liked these guys because they didnt even want any paperwork, just turned up, said pay us when you return it! that was it!

We had a minor issue we the taillights not working but thankfully i had a set of magnetic led ones so we hooked those up. I told him today though and he thanked me and said he will sort it out :)

yeeeah, hold on. minor issue :scratching_chin: no lights and the towbar nearly fell off?

also, not to be a downer on the steering box, it's meant to be a mare to get them to reseal properly..; worth a go if you feel upto it.

it was the towbar on the sorento that was the problem :) not the trailer
yeah the light thing was a bit annoying but i guess just one of those things. He was really apologetic :)

steering box - got to be worth a try hasnt it :) (im trying to be more optimistic in everything as my new years resolution haha)

it was so beautiful on the way to returning the hired trailer today!

Wow looks amazing, very excited for your 110 project too… :D

Well I'm in work now. Just replied to that thread, ill have a look at the earths when I get home as the rear lights are like a damn Christmas tree.

The sorento is actually quite good "on the road" for towing. It pulled this thing back over the non gritty super slippy B709 back home. All the time returning 37mpg (according to my fill at the pump calc)

Very pleased with it. We only paid £1700 for it and everything works on it. Even the heated seats still work perfect. Oh i tell a lie i broke the handbrake cable the other day but mergh ill sort that, it has done 170,000 for gawds sake.

Only thing i dont like about it is the traction control system for the awd is awful. It doesnt put power down properly when offroad, but then it is a soft roader after all.

I would have preferred the p38 for towing it, but thats out of mot at the minute, and the defenders timing is out and its gutless so i wouldnt want to use that. The L200 doesnt have the towing capacity.

What happened to the Pyongyang Kimjongunmobile?

sacked it off and got this one instead. All made in the same place!

Theres such a lack of spares available for the ssangyong it put me right off as if theres a problem it can be really expensive to repair them.

Awesome project, can't wait to see more! Out of interest, I thought L200's would have quite a substantial train weight, do they not?

Ste.

2.7 tonnes

The Sorento can pull 2.8. Not much difference I guess. The l200 is a thirsty beast though, and pretty uncomfortable compared to the kia. So why not! haha

sourced a slam panel / bonnet catch and braces last night for £13 which looks to be in very tidy nick.

Well, just bought a 2 tonne engine crane which should help with the refurb. Doing stuff on your own can be hard work! so this should help immensely :)
