Sills are on and the back quarter chequerplate too to straighten it all out :)

Well i replaced the broken shock turret with a tubular one yesterday and fitted a replacement damper. All dampers are now working! yay.

Discovered why its pulling to one side, the brake flexi on the alternate side was split so someone in the past had removed the pipe and blanked off the connection. Replacement hose ordered. Not sure if the old one is going to seperate from the hard pipe, looks pretty well stuck on! we will see.

spotted a bit of a hole on the front axle where the panhard rod mounts, so that needs a plate welding on. Then will paint the whole axle with waxoyl.

Found that there was no air filter fitted to it either, so thats now sorted.

Jobs to go are :-
replace brake hose / bleed
replace l/h trailing arm bush,
repair the battery box (big hole in the back though not sure if this is classed as an mot failure?
repair a small hole on the seatbox near the seatbelt retainer.
replace the rear tubular outriggers (both sides)
Weld up a tiny bit on the rear spring mount.
adjust / replace the handbrake

All pretty small potatoes :)

Cant wait to get it on the road now!

Once an MOT is achieved, the paint / interior refit can begin

managed to get the brakes all sorted today. Well pleased as it drives great now!

and the shiney new one welded into place :)

Bravo - you have a keeper there. SWMBO won;t even ride in my Rovers except in emergencies. :(

Re: Acid in the wash water for pressure washing: Do tell - never heard of this. How does one go about it?

Alan
Try Mr muscle oven cleaner the foam one its not half bad at getting most of the crap off .

is that a proper replacement panel Vilguy? or have you sed standard size box?

Cheers

proper panel, I've done the second door as well but with a panel with an extra couple of folds in it for extra strength. I just havent taken any pics yet :)

The repair bits definitely made it easier than trying to hash something up out of box / sheet. All the drain slots etc are present so once treated properly, should last a long time.

incidentally, if anyone is considering repairing their doors but have been putting it off because they think its a bit hard, dont. I had put this off for ages as had never done it but in reality, with the repair panels it made the job really easy. About 3/4 hour should see a door bottom replaced like this. Including knocking out the old one!

Remember to heat up the aluminium of the skin on the bottom to anneal it, this prevent (or at least minimise) it tearing when folding it back over. And the use of proper plenishing gear certainly helps create a neater fold too.

Cheers, a job I have planned for the summer.

Its the bending out of the door bottom without causing too much damage to the paint / ally that is putting me off.

thats why you want too anneal it with a blow torch from the inside, theres a trick to using a permanent marker pen than when it burns off its at the right temperature... something like that anyway

fairy liquid works as well so i have been told.

I just do not want to have to respray the doors.

Cheers

picked up a set of seats from @Boxer on here,

Started installing them today for her.

ive also welded up the footpan on the drivers side so that nots got a massive fist sized hole in it any more.

Im going to relocate the battery into the engine bay, mainly because i cant be bothered to repair the battery box (its knackered)

77 quid! What am I a billionaire?

There's a huge space on the r/h side of the engine with nothing there that'll have loads of room fir a nice battery tray. Sis it. It'll be an interesting mod to make anyhow :p
