hello. one of the many problems i am having at the moment is when i am in 2nd gear at 2000rpm i get a noticeable vibration up both pillars on windscreen. have only noticed it since i took prop off to do vcu. any ideas as to fault if any. thanks

the doors are the only good thing on it at the moment. the prop is still off it. have not put blanking plate on ird so flange is still there. cheers

i'd try with matches.

or the prop on... but first matches! oh, and post piccies when you do!

I am trying to sort out noise problem coming from back of car before putting prop on dont want to knack my new vcu up. Matches are sounding better by the day

Dont despair chap, a few peeps will offer you some sound advice about your truck...

Vibration in second could be a number of things since you removed VCU..
Now your vcu is removed there is far less strain on the whole drive train so things get a little "looser" up front if you have some wear.
I get a tiny vibration in second gear too with my prop fitted!!

If its coming up your window pillars then im guessing the vibration energy is from an equal plant to both pilars...i.e Dual Mass Flywheel, Engine mounts etc.
Get underneath and give them all a good prod and nudge to see iff your mounts are good.. As for the clutch/DMF I usually test cars by putting handbrake on and then trying to pull off in second gear, if it slips then you have a weak point somewhere be it clutch plate of DMF...if it hesitates/stalls then you know the clutch should be ok.

Just my own point of view and preferences, I may be way off the mark when someone comes along who has had your problem and corrects us both )
