Hey guys , i was wondering if anyonecould help me. At xmas i fitted some 265/70 16's bf km2s new and some 50mm spacer blocks. Now ive been liverpool this weekend and on the motorway i was getting quite alot of vibration through the steering wheel and abit through the disco at 55-65 above and below are fine . I havent got a steering damper fitted as i ripped it off offroading and wonderd if that was the issue of the vibrations . Or could it be the uj's , how do you check the uj's to see? While i think on i noticed the dif whining i think its the rear as i come to do an oil change and found it to be empty so i fixed the hole in the diff pan and filled it up however i dont know how long it was dry for , does that mean the diff is dead ? Any help would be appreciated guys oh and its a 1994 300tdi disco with std bar the above

Cheers

LOL.... No offence but the Steering damper, dampens wobble through to steering....#1 fix that

Well thats what i was thinking tbh ,but with the disco wobbling slightly i was wondering if it could be the uj's . Also i was thinking of relocating it like a defender do people make ther own of just buy the kits ?

Driving with out the damper you will certainty get wheel wobble, but vibrations ? From what I have read any alteration to the vehicle as what u have done will increase any existing problem or iffy parts something not noticeable with a standard set up.

What parts that can be? The usual suspects or its get your crystal ball out time. :)

Might also be the wheels are not balanced properly - this causes vibrations/wobble through the steering wheel at certain speeds.

If you lifted it, uj or rubber donut good culprits. Tyre balance another one as said. Check play in uj by raising a wheel, axle stand and all wheels chocked out of gear and hbrake off. Just twist prop to see if there is play from spider to cups. Rubber donut should have no splits and be resting with small degree of flex apparent
Fit your steering damper back before you drive it again oryou could end up in a ditch!
