Hi there i am hoping there is someone out there that may have an idea why my disco td5 has started vibrating through the gear leaver & clutch pedal in 1st 2nd & 3rd gear at 1800 rpm only.

No only does it when your driving had the codes read and the crank sensor on the gearbox is picking up a fault.I had the sump off at the weekend to change the oil pump bolt its a easy job after i built it back up i took it a run to check for oil leaks thats when this fault started must just be a coincidence

its ok in 5th ,i think id be looking at dual mass flywheel soon ,faulty l/s bearings would show in 5th and reverse

Thats the first thing that crossed my mind i have only had the car for 2 weeks so cheched through the paperwork i got with the car and it had a duel mass flywheel and clutch 2000 miles ago

could be a pattern or bad one or poorly fitted etc id run it a little longer to be sure ,can you run through engine system with diagnostics kit

Had that done today by J.Hill Landrover in Nottingham hes a top bloke only showed up crank sensor and EGR code thats down to the EGR removal kit i fitted last week.

Get it up to the revs and then sit your missus on it for a bit, she won't ever moan about your landy again :p

who ever fitted the clutch could have snagged the crank sensor loom behind the gearbox/tunnel?

having done some reading on this reference my impending clutch change.

Was there not a shim introduced on the crank position sensor because it was too far from the crank?
