This is a warning to all you Landy types. Don't buy anything from Paddocks! Their customer service is absolutely diabolical.
I bought a set of wheels and tyres for my Range Rover. I knew I wanted something chunky but didn't know what size tyres I would need, so I took advice from their wheels and tyres "expert".
He asked me a series of questions about the vehicle - has it been lifted, have the arches been cut, etc. Yes it has a 2" lift, no the arches have not been cut and I have no intention of doing so.
The tyres he sold me looked large, but I trusted his advice and took them home to fit them. It was immediately obvious that these tyres were way too big, and would catch on the arches at the slightest bump in the road.
So I went back to Paddocks and got the guy to come and have a look. He ummed and ahhed for a bit, then conceded that these tyres were indeed too large. He gave me a set of the correct size tyres and I took them to a place 5 miles down the road to be fitted.
When I got home I had a look on Paddocks website, and it was only then that I realised there was a price difference between the 2 sets of tyres, and I had not been given a refund. A difference of £14 + vat per tyre adds up to a sizeable chunk of cash, so I took photocopies of the receipts I was given (which showed I had been overcharged for the smaller tyres) and wrote them a letter.
A month passed and I still had no reply, so I wrote another letter. Another few weeks went by - still no response. I have now written back threatening to take legal action if they don't send me a refund.
I am very disappointed by the lack of response I've had from Paddocks, I thought they were a reputable company but I've had nothing but trouble from them.
Also it's nice to be acknowledged when you walk into somewhere. I've been to Paddocks before and been stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes before someone has stopped what they're doing for a second just to say "I'll be with you soon."
All in all, a very bad experience and I certainly shall not be returning.
