Hi all
I am getting my front discs changed next week is it ok to put vented on the front and leave the back as solid or do they have to be the same alround
Why do you want vented discs ?, solid discs with a good quality set of pads are all you need , also change the fluid and make sure the hoses are in good nick , standard disco brakes in good condition are fine .

Mine are in need of changing. I was looking at the options and considering the vented discs on my TD5, do you think it is worth speding the cash on the vented ebc or saving my cash and going with mintex which are £30+ cheaper?
Sorry to hijack your thread!

Do not alter manufacturers spec unless you have a good reason to do so, the standard system is fine for normal driving. If you decide otherwise get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing, my eyes are still sore from reading the last "I upgraded my brakes thread"!
Vented discs fill with mud in next to no time and any advantage is lost.
IMHO good quality brake pads are a good place to start. Changing the brake fluid every 2 years is also an often overlooked area of improving brake performance.
