Hi, first Defender bought last fall. Performed great in snow which is just what I bought it for. This summer I've been using the vents slot. Now the one on drivers side won't close/seal all the way. Not too bad now but as I already wear gloves when driving in the winter - I'm not really looking forward to a constant breeze in a few months.
Is there an adjustment somewhere? It feels like the seal is pretty good if you hold the knob al the way up. But when it drops back to the first hold setting is when the breeze picks up!
Thanks for any feedback.

Yes, also if I hold the knob as far up as it will go, the vent seals ok.

If you want to talk filth please use the 'Anything Goes' section :D

Got similar problems with my series......so far as I can make out there isn't any adjustment so I'm guessing worn linkages or bent bits

Aye, bugger all tae them....

Check yer bolts holding the linkage tae the flap, check pins holding flap tae bulkhead and depending on how old yer seal is it might be hard;)

Personally I have found the later foam/rubber seals a massive improvement over the old rubber ones and since fitting them 10-years ago have never had a problem with leaks around the vent-flaps.

I find that with my foams ones that the vent becomes stuck to it for some reason, so i have to stop and get out the 90 to open the vent.

RIGHT THATS IT! WHY DONT YOU JUST GO AND F...........oh......different Jamie....oops :D

how are the hinges where the split pin pivots? mine were ever so slightly bent due to using excessive force to open cos the linkage had never been lubricated causing them not to shut tight,it only needs to be out a touch at the hinge to be a mile at the bottom, and i also found the newer foam seals that fit on underside of flap loads better.
