Get your money back and look out for a TD4 diesel if you really like the look and feel of a Freelander.

I am taking a guess that you have spoken to your mechanic since you posted this thread. You simply can't be bothered to ask him what the engine capacity of your vehicle is. Enough people have attempted to help you but you have pretty much shunned what they have said/asked. That makes me think that you are either....... a) an arsehole b) a troll c) too thick to understand what is being asked d) an attention seeker e) a lazy fecker that thinks answers grow on trees. Which is it **** for brains?

Wayne, this bit is taken from your first post and I think it says it all really. It appears that you bought the vehicle and THEN read up about it when the problems started. Otherwise you decided to get a vehicle with a lot of bad reviews.... either way not very clever! If you HAD read up before buying, you would have known about Head Gasket Failure (HGF) on a lot of 1.8 Petrol engines and steered clear of them. You would also have noticed how much praise the TD4 diesels get for reliability. There is much more to buying a car than how pretty it is!!! While its nice to be thanked for any help received, you wont get much sympathy from many if you dont even know what you spent your hard earned cash on. Perhaps next time you ought to get your mechanic to post the questions! Personally I have a TD4 HSE Auto that I have owned for nearly a year now. Last week I drove approx 2000miles around Scotland and back (including a non-stop 8hr drive home) with no issues. Yeah I'm happy with my '****' car

Don't ignore the L-series, it is slow but its bomb proof.
