so transformation into fully fledged handy- landy self sufficient owner has begun(ish).....

have bought small watering can for mixing water and anti freeze - I know not strictly directly mechanical orientated but its to do with car maintenance........

next I checked the oil- it's still at the max level- thats good isnt it as it was last looked at on the service in July last year.

Water levels in the expansion tank- good- so no need for my watering can- again not bad I think- checked inNovember and it needed gallons.

Didnt do tyres- it was raining and not kneeling in the wet and hadnt read thread about presure at that point - they dont look low so will do that job when its a nicer day.

No furry bits around any of the hoses- like the pics earlier on so thats good again i think.

Dont know what this is coz havent bought the manual yet- but the white plastic tupperaware box like thing attatched to the big metal round wheel like thing next to the expansion tank is also filled to the right level- so all good again.

so all in all ,a very productive day ,by my standards i think :)

LOL...congrats...next step...uj's!!

Guessing you are not suggesting I join the Union of Jewish Students, nor go and visit the University Of Johannesburg nor Jagiellonian University of Krakow.....

So....... maybe you are refering to the dynamic portal engine and content management system??

Plan to look at that tomorrow- lol :D

Go on..Admit it...Feels good to mess about with your landy doesn't it? The basics are dead easy once you have the balls to try....erm...:p

Once I get some tools from Halfords and my manual from e-bay-Need some suggestions for a list of mega simple things to do on car ( after the tyres that is )...

Need them to be really really easy, really really getatable- ideally at the top of the car so i dont have to go under it just yet , clean if possible and definately be in a category that if I cock it up it won't be..

1) fatal for me and the kids
2) lethal for the beast
3) expensive to put right

All suggestions welcome :)

download afree copy of Rave - will help ya lots.

looks like yu are changing the wiper blades then?

had a brief look at Rave - will get kids to download it later for me- ta

wipers not a bad thought- think even I could manage those ( maybe..... havent actually looked at them to see if it looks complicated just sounds easy :) )

on a scale of one to 10- one being like checking the oil and water - 10 being - dont even think about it woman...........

how hard would it be to replace the motor for a rear wiper ?
