this is probably been asked a hundered times but being new i have to ask...have a p38 range rover diesel.....can vegtable oil be used in it...does anything need to be done to use it?

I own one and have thought about it but been afraid to. The Beemer injun is pretty robust but I'm not sure if anything else will like it. They are finnicky vehicles at the best of times.
I saw a post on here once about someone used veg and added too much and had probs in starting up but once it got fired up it went ok.
Do a search but I'm sure someone will say yay or nay in the mean time.

yeah i heard from people that all diesel engines will run and run with mix of 50;50 so it doesnt gunk up. but wanna hear if any one knows about the range rovers.

No No No No.. unless its a VM, the BMW engine will self destruct on veg, as a quick look on the omega forums will tell you. Old pug engines go well on it, (My 2.1 TC XM works very well 100% WVO in summer, 70% in winter).

Only indirect injection engines with Bosch mechanical pumps, fly by wire thrtles are fine, but no more elctronic intervention than that.

But I wodul not bother, LPG and a V8 far better.

I have been looking at the price of veg-oil in my local Somerfield and reckon it is cheaper to use diesel at the moment
