Having the VCU and bearings replaced at Bell Engineering tomorrow. I've been meaning to do it for a while and just not got round to it and now it occasionally gives a vibration between the seats when driving very tight corners.

See you tomorrow ;)

£300 all in including bearings

GibboGTI - I had Bell replace my VCU last year and it's been faultless since and a great price too. I had Mark Smith in Bicester (Land Rover specialist) quote £700 plus to do it :-(

I just got my VCU and bearings from Bell sent to me here in France yesterday. It will be a project the weekend after next - along with the front diff mount. I know what you mean about the tightness on the cornering and am looking forward to something a bit easier. Having said that, I love driving my Freelander and it makes a very comfy ride after my old Jeep Cherokee Mk 1

Thanks lads 300 pounds sounds very good will be 1 of my first jobs to get done ive driven the freelander and no hint of it being tight but will still get it done:hijacked:

Well what can I say? Austen replaced my VCU yesterday and it feels like a totally different car :) So smooth to drive and on the way home felt more responsive, wish I'd done it earlier lol. Cheers Austen :)

Hi,

I don't know why Hippo, removed the guide, it was great to follow how to chang the bearings. I used it myself recently when I changed mine.

Have a look at the thread below. Just after the first couple of post's there is a link to a Utube video which shows what to do. But don't follow everything shown, he has gone about it in a very hard way.
