Neat, I am curious what oil he used. Cutting the VCU housing with a lathe is probably outside the toolset of most FYIer...

where is the data that says that is the correct fluid for a VCU?

Who says it's the correct fluid to use?
I was answering a different question, i.e. what did HE use.

Ive seen this clip before. Personally think its only worth considering if you want to recon vcus on an industrial scale. Im quite happy paying the 200 to 300 quid for recon unit from a reputable company every 70k or however long it happens to last.

This is the dimethicone that is used in VCUs. Although this is not viscous enough at 60 000 cSt. I believe it should be more like 100000cSt. The price of it here in Sweden is over half what I can get a new VCU for from th eUK so.....

Although I have no reason to disbelieve you, I repeat, where is the data that says that is the correct fluid for a VCU?
