I used zip ties on a Freelander a few years ago and it was fine for months. I then used strong silicone to glue it back on and no issues.Fair enough. Along with the cold the plastic is going to be brittle anyway. Angle grinder it is!

Yes it rotates at high speed but there isn't much forward and backward pressure to break the glue.
The stuff I used was very high strength. Can't remember the name but I'm sure the rings can be glued back on for a long term repair. They were glued on in the first place weren't they?I noticed mine is beginning to delaminate. I was thinking of using silicon to repair it temporarily, until I remove it when the VCU gets a refurb.
