Does it matter which way round the VCU bearings face? I notice the rubber moulding on which they sit, has an "open" side and a "Closed" side. I did mine this weekend and put them on facing the same way as they came off (i.e. with the "open" side of the rubber facing the VCU and damper at each end, and the "closed" side of each, facing the IRD and rear diff, respectively.

However, the photo in the Haynes manual appears to have them the other way round. Does it make a difference?
