im still getting aquainted with the bmw m62 engine. does it have a vanos filter like some of the other bmw motors? if so is it a simple job to change?

100% no vanos filters on m62 range rover, complete units. ps wish there was though

Think it was only the double VANOS units, such as found on the S52 motor, that had the small filter behind the Allen bolt you could unscrew separately... Then again, I think it was only the double VANOS units that were problematic... The rest of 'em rarely seem to give trouble...

Admittedly this is Wikipedia and it has been known to be incorrect (!) but it says the M62TU had vanos. VANOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I assume the Rangie just had the standard M62 then?
