My landie is in a bit of a decayed state body wise and I am going to have to replace a lot of panels, but I was wondering how easy would it be to swap the whole thing over for a pick-up or convert it to a rag-top?

Its a series III 88" which has been fiddled around with a fair bit in it's past, so there are probably going to be a few horrors hidden under cover.

Easy
The lid unbolts and hay presto a open top landy (1 hr and a mate to help)
Adding the sticks and hood 1 hr and about £500 notes.
Bolt on a truck cab also about 1 hr.

The series landys are bolt and play.

I knew the van was bolt off (apart from where someone seems to of bone insane with some kind of silicon sealant) I didn't know the cab was bolt on though. Much pleased by this turn of events :)

Any good peddlers of landie parts worth looking at for the sticks and the cab?

:D
i got a truck cab and sticks n roof n stuff up in basingstoke if yu fancy a trip sum time.

yu cud come TOSSERising at the same time.

finks! - yu is a newb - maybe i shd have sed green laning

You can unbolt down to a flat line in an hour, roof door tops the lot, i have hard and soft tops and swap depending on summer winter, try getting the doortops off as well, 2 bolts a side and then push the windscreen flat. Its the most soft top you can get, need sunglasses tho, lots a suecide flies around. Warning , if you break the bolts on the door tops you prob need new door top, 25 quid and an hours work, i keep a spanner in the car n wip the soft top and door tops of for nice days, windsceen down 2 for fun, take car with the wippers if you flaten the screen

Interesting story, the windscreen isn't bolted on where it should be, I have no idea why this had been done, but it is going to be quite interesting to undo. The nutter with the sealant seems to of struck here again, the thing is half sealed, half glued (?) onto the bulkhead.

I have no idea of the condition of the body under all the gunk, but I think I'll investigate it at the same time I try to sort out all the other bodywork related mess.

To Mr Mad Hat that sounds like a plan, but I am not going to mess you around.... At the moment I am (how shall I put it) financially embarrassed? So at a later date I may pester you again, but until then I am going to have to pass.
