Just after a bit of info from any techies, can the valve stem seals be swapped out without taking the head off on the M47 engine, and how much of a pain is it?
 
Not really. Maybe if you air pressure the piston through the injector hole so valves won't fall in the rabbit hole. You will still need to remove the camshafts and time it so that is just a small step from removing the cylinder head.
If there is a way or a rover k type of guide I am interested as well.
If blueish smoke on cold start is what you are after might be the injectors. That was on mine.
