I agree. Sad to say but some people should not be allowed to own spanners. ;):D

I'd bet he'll be back when the new valve block doesn't fix it:rolleyes: He could send me the old one to add to my spares collection:D:D

Hi guys

It’s so true what ur both saying , when I first bought my D3 my air suspension was in a right mess , wouldn’t sit level, dropped overnight , etc , etc

In the end disconnected lines, capping them off one by one and pressure testing them, then using a vaccum hand pump and gauge for my valve blocks , pressure gauge as well on my compressor to ensure it was reaching the req pressure , one valve block wasn’t working , found a loose wire and saved £100 , pressure tested air tank etc

Took a long time tracing everything out one by one , but at the end of the day knew then it was in fully working order

Indeed all about proving 100% an item is at fault before just changing parts that may not be required

Learnt with any fault have to be methodical

I’ll get my coat

If you all recall, I went through the rigmaroll of rebuilding the compressor and the valve block (which was no bad thing really) and it turned out my real problem was a burst exhaust had melted the pipe from the compressor to the air tank.

I pulled the relay and bridged the connections to run the compressor and went around the car and listened.

I heard the hissing at the back above the exhaust box and figured it out.

Some new pipe fixed it and away she went ;)

I think he may have checked the valve block exhaust rather than THE exhaust

Will keep the old valve block and refurbish it in time just need the car up and running at the moment as only got the one car going out wkend to look at another one so can take the rr off the rd and replace other items on it but thanks for all help especially kurtjohnson for replacement valve block

Yer an wammers is right wish I had the money to put the car into the garage every time it goes ...up but not possible at the moment

Most garages can't fix the EAS.
The guy who owned mine before me, was locked out by the immobilizer... The garage was going to send it straight to landrover!! They said they wouldn't touch it!!
I helped him open the back door which had super locked and jammed. Two bits of wire and a lawnmower battery helped jump it out of its state and allowed the EKA code inputs and voila... Up she rose from her slumber..

Hi

Is really annoying when garages try and rip u off, when my disco was having its mot at the dealers , the back door lock failed so was an instant fail

Dealer rang me and said they would have to rip off the door card because the door was super locked , told them to leave it and got a cab to the dealers

They then advised me it would be £100 for diagnostics and another £500 to sort it all out

I Refused and drove the disco home, got the door open using a combination of the dashboard switch and handle

Bought a new lock for £60 , fitted it in around 2 x hours , took the disco back a few days later and sailed through its mot

Really did infuriate me when they tried to rip me off by charging an outrageous amount of £100 for diagnosis and then £180 per hour labour totalling nearly £600

Wouldn’t ever go back to them
