Ok, so i'm plucking up the courage to renew my rocker cover gaskets and valley gaskets on my D2 V8

So, i've reviewed the RAVE CD and it seems ok (ish) my concerns are taking off the alternator, air con compressor and a couple of pulleys associated with the aforementioned.

My question to those who have attempted the valley gasket and succeeded, should I follow the RAVE instructions 100% or is there room for not removing those ancillaries ?

they should move to one side with out disconnecting pipes or wires ,main thing is to torque manifold bolts at least twice as gasket compresses

Do you mean move the alternator and air con unit to one side ? I recall it mentioning that in the RAVE info ?
